If your business resolves a dispute, it is advisable that the terms of the dispute be documented in the form of a Deed. It is particularly important that your business enter a Deed in circumstances where the disputing party has made a claim against your business. Corporate Legal can review any Deeds your business may be asked to enter in resolution of a dispute. Corporate Legal can also prepare a Deed that clearly documents the settlement reached, and coordinate the proper execution of the Deed.
If you have been left out of a deceased estate, in certain circumstances, you may be entitled to make a family provision claim. A family provision claim can be made if are considered an 'eligible person', and if you were, in some way or another, dependent on the deceased person financially. We can help you identify whether you are entitled to make a claim, try to negotiate a settlement with the executor of the deceased estate, and if that fails, make a family provision claim to the Supreme Court on your behalf.
